Grades

Final course grades in CMPM 265 are comprised of the following elements. Note that final grades may deviate from this formula at the instructor's discretion.

Readings and Class participation. Attendance in class is required. When class periods involve discussion of readings, you are required to read the assigned readings ahead of time, and develop questions for class discussion based on these readings. You will also be required to give a summary of one or more assigned papers as part of class discussion. Participation in discussion via engaged listening and conversation is expected.

Homework. Multiple individual small projects will be assigned as homework during the quarter, as a way to develop hands-on proficiency with a range of generative methods.

Final Project. A significant final project will demonstrate the ability to integrate one or more generative methods into either an artwork, or a game experience.

Course elements have the following weightings:

Readings/Class participation: 20%

Homework: 35%

Final project: 45%

You are required to receive a passing grade in all of the class elements (readings/partipation, homeworks, final project) in order to pass the class.
